Hi

I'm also interested by this feature and even to get tracks of my boats friends.

Capturing the data is possible, but it would still involve a lot of clicking to get the desired information.

The suggested route can be saved as a .gpx file using the "route zezo.org" chrome extension, which works with the VR Dashboard extension. That file can then be uploaded into Windy.com or Google Earth. It is some work, but I do it sometimes to better visualize the route with pretty weather graphics and see what it looks like vs ECMWF.

Dashboard seems to be logging points in your trail and other boats you click on now. So, if it was the past you wanted to plot, maybe Hardtack can expand on that?

Dashboard just plots the track data from VR. With the new game engine it includes the action performed at each point which is actually very nice. The VR game UI, as usual, keeps the information back from its users.

An export to gpx function wouldn't be difficult to implement. On the downside, it would be yet another feature needing maintenance later. And I still have on my list a couple of existing features to fix or improve.

Hi Hardtack,

A GPX export would be great.
Maybe I can help on this. If you can take some time to give me some tips to start on it..

The source code is here.
I recently created a dev branch but never merged it, so you need to look at that branch. Function updateMapMe() plots the track data.

Hi,
Thank you all for your responses.
Indeed, a .gpx file would be great.
But should we be able to retrieve this information by google development tools (Network, webSockets ..)?
But afterwards, I admit being lost. Does anyone have the solution ?
Thank you and good vendee globe
