Hello everyone, since about an hour I'm noticing a big difference in terms of the boat and the wind speed in-game and in Zezo. It's slowing down my progression. Is there any way to fix the issue?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

I also notice the same issue:
as I am writing SOG: 2.61 kts in dashboard; while SOG speed is 6.6 on VR official interface.

I notice this issue multiple time since 2 days; Sometime it come back to normal, but not. now

The same is visible after a complete disconnect/reconnect ( 3 times in 45mn)

Any Clue ? Any workaround ? advice ?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Fr.

PS: I also notice this morning that the grib published now at 9:51CET 12/11 is still the one of yesterday 18:00CET 11/11 ??? Am I wrong ? I sit linked ?

PS2: For sure thanks for this GREEEEAT job on zezo !

Hmm the current grib is 00z now (available from 5 UTC/7CET)

The GRIB name comes from the initial conditions.

18Z is based on data from 18h UTC, model based on it is available about 5 hours later, so should be in use between 23 and 05 UTC

Right now 06Z will start trickling in.

About the difference - are you sure the dashboard data timestamp is current? Look at the first column. Current protocol does not update without user interaction and there may still be glitches with the extension.

It's not impossible to see such big differences, but is uncommon. Happens mostly when you are close to a ridge/center of a weather system where the conditions change sharply with time and position.

The workaround is to steer the boat by the server data. Like keep auto TWA on to avoid heading into wind and unnecessary sail changes. When deciding when to gybe disregard the interface boat direction - look at the real numbers. It was easier with the original auto updates, now it takes more effort.

BTW when you see a big difference, especially between the router and the game, it's worth checking few things.

- Position - numbers in the boxes against the game player card or 3d view
- Wind displays - check if all the wind controls are reset to zero

It sounds obvious, but gets quite confusing when your alarm wakes you at 5AM ;-)

One classic problem is not switching the longitude from E to W after crossing 180 (if not using the extension). We've all done that, and more than once.

What is a "wind control"?

This morning my boat Virtual Regatta display HDG=184 TWA=130 and VR Dashboard HDG=184,2 TWA=122,6!
Any comment on TWA difference? Is this normal?

Normal? No.

Usual? Yes.

VR Client and server seem to have some difference in the temporal interpolation algorithm, and it shows during the 2.5 hour period of the weather update.

Most of the time it's not that bad, but if you happen to be close to active weather - like a ridge ot the center of a system - the difference can become significant.
