So I’m sailing along headed east and the router wants me to tack south for 20 minutes and then continue east for 15 hours....
Should I pay attention and tack or just keep going??

Lay the green trackline along your path. Does it reconverge with the route at a windangle that is inside max VMG for your windspeed? Are the progress dots on the trackline lining up ontop of the isochrone lines? If that's the case, then you can probably sail that indicated angle and get to the same place at the same time.

If when you lay the trackline over the routing path it indicates an angle outside the max VMG angle, then you'll have to throw that turn in. Or, if the progress dots are falling behind the isochrones, same thing.

I always put some time into trying to figure out why the router wants to do what it wants to do. Better wind down there? Obstruction? Or, random noise.

Thank you for that! It makes a lot of sense.
To be honest I’ve turned those annoying green and red lines off more often than not because they follow the mouse around and get in the way.

I’ll be more mindful of what they are telling me from now on.

I am using an iPad. How do I get zero to make a corse to Cape Horn ? At present it is guiding me back the other way ?

There should be a menu button, tap it and scroll the menu all the way to the bottom, it's 2nd last entry. I'm actually looking on Android phone but imagine it is the same.
